The Eel Pit is whatever we want it to be.
The Eel Pit is bringing together an active, engaged, and collaborative community of bands, artists, and audiences.
I work directly with artists to produce concerts, performances, and other live in-person events throughout NYC and beyond. I prioritize DIY spaces where we can be as kooky and creative as possible. From basements to rooftops to bars to 200-person venues, The Eel Pit will manage all logistics to curate the perfect vibe to amplify your energy and sound.
The Eel Pit zine acts as an anchor for the brand. The 52+ page print-only publication features band interviews, illustrations, photography, and community resources. Each zine has been released at a sold-out DIY party.
I imagine NYC’s music scene as an eel pit. A strange ecosystem of slimy creatures symbiotically co-existing. From bands and venues to MCs and DJs to photographers and illustrators, we all need each other. We gather together in The Eel Pit.

About Sofia Pipolo
With a background in film production and journalism, Sofia Pipolo created The Eel Pit to meet the individual, unique needs of each artist when producing and promoting live events. Her interest in media and social outreach allows her to think and create collectively and intersectionally.
With The Eel Pit and all her creative ventures, she aims to work directly with artists, businesses, and community organizations. Creating original content that promotes their brand and aligns with her own values of quality, connection, and authenticity.
